Pier Luca Montessoro is full professor of Computer Science at the Polytechnic Department of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Udine. He is also a musician, a songwriter, and a sporty person.

Music

Member of SIAE (“Società Italiana degli Autori ed Editori”) as composer and songwriter, Pier Luca Montessoro is present on the main digital platforms with his original compositions, and is involved in several musical projects.

The didactic software, libraries and programs designed and developed by Pier Luca Montessoro for his courses are available as open source freeware. He has also promoted, with the UThings project, the dissemination by students of their projects.

After several years spent on CAD for digital circuits design and, later, on multimedia systems for teleteaching and e-learning, his research interests are currently focused on computer networks, ICT security, and distributed systems.

His favorite outdoor sports and activities are ski mountaineering, cycling, mountain biking, trekking, and cycle tourism, but also practiced sailing, tennis and freediving.
